Our Accounting Controls Verification service provides extra support, advice and guidance for clubs that are less confident with the accounts. We will work with you to review and develop your posting procedures then undertake ongoing and in-depth checks of your accounts, conducted at intervals throughout the year. We start on month one, ensuring that all previous year adjustments have been applied, the opening balances are correct, advanced income has been addressed and prepayments and accruals have been reversed. The VAT is checked thoroughly each quarter, prior to submission and all key control accounts are reviewed, such as the wages, pensions, creditors, debtors, assets, bank and leases/HP agreements. At year-end we work with you to ensure that all your procedures are completed, stock values have been entered, adjustments, prepayments and accruals have been posted and then assist in the preparation of the data to be handed over to your accountants.

Croft partners with the leading chartered accountant in the golf club industry, Irwin Donaghey Stockman, to review every aspect of your accounts, taking them through to completion. Our work includes an ongoing and comprehensive review of every aspect of your accounts and VAT at key intervals throughout the year. We work closely with the club through to signature, calculating your corporation tax liability, preparing the final accounts in the format for your AGM and filing the accounts.

Our VAT Health Check service provides a comprehensive review of every aspect of your VAT, giving you complete VAT peace of mind. We check the accuracy of every posting within a given period, explore areas where you may be over-paying or underclaiming VAT, balance your VAT account, ensure that that all periods have been paid or claimed correctly and analyse your posting procedures to ensure that mistakes don’t happen again. Croft will help you understand the difference between items that are fully or partially recoverable, taxable and exempt, standard, reduced or zero rated, to help take the stress out of VAT.
